Philips Xenium X600

Philips-Xenium-X600.jpgThe Philips Xenium X600 mobile phone has been launched, the phone can do 8.5 hours of talk time and up to a month in standby mode on one charge. With that type of battery uptime other features have been dropped and your left with a tri-band GSM/GPRS clamshell with external and internal displays, microSD card slot and music player.

The phone is apparently intended for mobile phone customers looking for little more than a handset that they can use for days on end without needing a recharge, literally.

Sony Ericsson Launch PlayNow Plus

sony-ericsson-w902.jpgSony Ericsson have officially announced its unlimited music download service called PlayNow Plus, they will be first launch in Sweden with Telenor and are offering a special edition Sony Ericsson W902 Walkman phone that will come with 1000 song preloaded.

I’m not sure how it works but according to reports at the end of your contract you can keep a large number of your most played songs.

You’ll also have the option to play your songs from PlayNow Plus on your PC.

I’m sure this will be an interesting servive to watch and I look forward to seeing how this works and what other European networks offer this service early next year.

Unlocked 3G iPhone For Sale

3g-iphone.jpgThe Apple online store in Hong Kong have started selling unlocked 3G iPhones. It’s a bit of a bold move and makes you wonder if it’s something they will rollout to other countries. According to Apples website in Honk Kong the iPhone can be activated with any wireless carrier through iTunes 8.

The phone’s are selling for 700 USD and 800 USD for the 8GB and 16GB versions.

The iPhone has been available locally on a Three contract since July but this is interesting to see and I wonder as exclusivity deals expire over the next year will we see more of this across other countries.
