Samsung M7600 Beat DJ
Here we have the Samsung M7600 Beat DJ which if I remember correctly we looked at a few months ago. The phone comes with a 2.8-inch AMOLED touch screen, it also has a three megapixel camera and connectivity via HSDPA.
One of the nice features to this the appeal is amplified using Bang & Olufsen, but I would really love to hear the quality of the sound on this myself. The phone also supports DivX/XviD video playback which is really starting to show where mobile smart phones are moving to in the future.
Unfortunately no pricing or availability is available at the moment. Read more

Samsung Will Have Navteq map data
It looks like Samsung will be using Nokia’s Navteq maps on some of their up and coming handsets in the next year.
Navteq was acquired by Nokia in 2008 for $8.1 billion and is used by many big companies like Garmin, BMW and Yahoo.
We believe that the first phone that Samsung will be distributing with Nokia’s Navteq maps will be the Omnia HD i8910. The phone is based on the Symbian operating system and comes with Wi Fi, Bluetooth v2.0, DNSe 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack.
The phone also has an 8 megapixel camera with face, smile and blink detection. It comes with a accelerometer sensor which we know is great for playing games. But, will also be ideal for looking at maps to help guide you.
Samsung Trance Now On The Verizon Network
The Samsung Trance U490 is now available on the Verizon network in the United States. The phone is going to be branded with the Verizon logo as you can see from the photograph. It will have touch sensitive navigation, which we have seen on other Samsung phones lately like the U900 Soul. A particular this menu system as it changes depending on the application are accessing.
Most cell phones nowadays are music enabled and you will be not let down with the U490 as the audio comes courtesy of Bang & Olufsen. It’s simply a matter of plugging in your headphones and you should be able to listen to quality sound. And also comes with built-in speakers which showed at to the quality. Mobile games are a big thing we are not sure and presence what games come preinstalled with the phone. It has everything like some of the games that are already installed on some other models don’t think we’ll have any problems with being let down.
Other specifications include a 220 x 176 display, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and microSD expansion up to 16GB. The phone was going to come in two different colors Electric Red or Piano Black and is expected to hit stores this week. We believe pricing will be around $50 on a contract that this is yet to be confirmed.
Samsung a657 Candy-Bar Phone
Below we have a video review of the Samsung a657 mobile phone. This is a rugged handset that believe it or not performed to military specifications. It has some nice features like push to talk (which is not available for us in Ireland but basically works like a walkie-talkie if you happen to be living in the United States). The phone is designed to work in hostile environments shock, dust, water and vibration, which could be an ordinary day in Ireland really.
The phone of course comes with a few unusual features like a dedicated flashlight, which is built into the top of the phone. The cover is actually screwed into place, which as we know is unusual for a phone. The video also highlights a few of the other a627’s features and they also promise in a second video to show some demonstrations of how tough this phone actually is.
If you love those people that tend to drop your phone in water or are not very careful maybe this is the ideal thing that you should be looking for. There were some rumors that this was going to be available on the T-Mobile network but we now believe that it is heading for the AT&T network instead. It’s not quite an iPhone in terms of features and touchscreen but this is built for a specific purpose. If you’re in the market for this type of mobile phone maybe this is something you should consider.
Samsung Instinct Now on the Sprint Network
The Samsung Instinct S30 touchscreen device is now available on the Sprint network for $129. The phone, which was announced earlier this month, will be available on a two-year contract plan with a $100 mail in rebate. The phone will feature a full QWERTY keyboard with something that Samsung are calling haptic feedback to give that more realistic feel.
The mobile phone comes with a two megapixel camera, Bluetooth, threaded text messaging which I guess is something similar to what is available on the iPhone but not really sure to be honest. It also comes with a speech to action button, which will allow you access application using voice recognition. This will include sending text messages, controlling movies, news and search.
The 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen display is said to be crystal clear and easy to navigate around the menus. The phone will also comes with GPS navigation, Opera Mini 4.2 web browser. I particularly like one feature with the calendar that allows it to synchronize with Microsoft exchange server and IBM Lotus Notes.
This is a particularly nice looking cell phone and as he said it is now available on the Sprint network so check their website or their stores for more pricing information.
Samsung Sets Sales Targets at 500 million Phones
Samsung mobile display division is constantly growing and with the amount of new phones we have seen lately it’s no wonder that they are targeting to sell 500 million units globally by 2012. It’s been a phenomenal growth in the past couple of years and they expect to ship 170 million units this year alone.
We are all aware of the amount of smart phones that are now coming to market and Samsung are at the forefront of this phenomenal growth. But this is not the only area that they are targeting, they have already taken market share away from other cell phone manufacturers to help drive and diversify their sales. It presents sales outside the smart phone area account for about 14% while their overall revenue. Samsung hope to drive this to around 29% by 2012.
One interesting fact is that they expect touch screens to account for around 50% of sales of portable devices by 2013. We can see all ready that many cell phones are coming to market with touch screens and as time moves on the pricing for these particular phones is getting cheaper. It’s only a matter of time before pricing gets to a level where the mass market begins to have access to it. India’s present economic times and not many people are going to be spending €500 or €600 on a phone and the last thing people want is to be stuck with a contract phone for 12 months without having the option to change. Suffice it to say we have seen touchscreen phones hit the market for around €150 this will obviously be a phenomenal growth area for Samsung in the coming years as they are expecting.
Samsung S8000 Android Phone
You just have to love the Internet as we come across information on mobile phones that have not actually been announced yet. It happens all the time and I’m starting to wonder are these leaked on purpose.
On the Russian website Euroset.ru they decided to put the Samsung S8000 up so people can pre-order which is jumping the gun a little as it is not available yet apparently.
• Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
• Dual band UMTS connectivity (900/2100 MHz)
• Wi-Fi
• A-GPS
• Bluetooth 2.1
• Media player
• 3.5mm headset jack
• 5MP camera with autofocus
• 2GB of internal memory
• 1,100 mAh battery
• 108.9 x 53.5 x 11.9 mm
The S8000 or the Samsung Cubic phone as it will be called is set to sell for around €470 without much for this price is for a contract phone or a pay as you go phone. This will be Samsungs first Android device. We have no release date yet for the phone but do expect that you will be able to buy this phone very soon since it has already been put up for sale as a pre-order. I must also say that it has since been taken down so this won’t say to us that this will be available within the next few weeks.
Samsung i627 Propel Pro
The Samsung i627 Propel Pro is another new phone that has just been announced the phone is at present being shown at CTIA Wireless 2009 which is tear being held in Las Vegas CTIA is one of the biggest cell phone shows us how in the US each year.
The Propel Pro is said to be heading for the AT&T network and from the pictures we have seen looks like a nice looking stylish Smartphone. In terms of specifications and phone comes with a QWERTY keyboard and runs on Windows mobile 6.1OS.
From some of the reviews I’ve been reading some people have concerns over the Metallic cover material that is being used on the phone and suggest that this may be pretty prone to scratch, which if we’re honest is not really a good thing when you pay $150 for a phone. The phone is expected to launch on the AT&T network later this month we believe as a contract phone and we have no information as yet if there will be a pay as you go up as well. Read more
Betty Boop Phone Available in France
Samsung just keep rolling out new phones all the time and we now believe that the Samsung Betty Boop mobile phone is now available on the French network service provider “Bouygues Telecom”.
The phone is a limited-edition handset and comes with GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, VGA camera, slider form factor, colour display, FM radio, MP3 player, microSD expansion slot. I’m a little bit disappointed with the VGA camera as this is going back a few years.
The phone which offers up to three hours talk time is said to be selling for around €129 on pre-pay but if you decide to take out a contract all you need to do is pay a €1 fee for the phone.
At that sort of price it is almost a free phone but the problem is you are also signing up for the two-year contract.
