The Nokia E71x Symbian phone is now going to be available on the AT&T network. AT&T are coming in at a nice price point on this and are going to be selling it at $99 with a contract.
As this is the thinnest QWERTY Smartphone presently available Nokia seemed to have packed a lot into this small device. It has high-speed 3G connectivity, WiFi, and features a built-in music player and a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera.
It comes with lots of built-in applications and in the video below from the guys over at phonedog.com you can get a really nice overview and idea of the look and feel of what this phone actually looks like. I particularly like the nice black sleek design that Nokia has given the AT&T Nokia E71x.

Here’s an interesting new piece of software and service from Nokia. The new Point and Find service allows you to access relevant information from the Internet by simply pointing your mobile camera at everyday real-life objects. At the moment this service is still in beta and is available for UK and US customers only.
“With Nokia Point & Find, businesses are able to target engaging experiences and calls-to-action to consumers. We believe that this first Nokia Point & Find-based service for movies will add something special to the cinema experience. Simply by pointing their camera phone at a poster for a new movie, people can watch the trailer, read reviews, and find the closest cinema where it is playing,” said Philipp Schloter, General Manager, Nokia Point & Find.
The new service uses real-time image processing and recognition technologies that will link the user to content and services that are available. When you point your phone at an object the software then uses its own off the phones capabilities including the camera, GPS positioning and Internet connectivity. The software then accesses a database that has been virtually linked it will then identify what the object is you are pointing at and return a set of links to you.
It’s a really interesting concept and you can see where this would work in the example of movies where you pass by a billboard poster point your camera and you are able to see the trailer of the movie may be also get the times it is showing in your local cinema. The software is now available for download from http://pointandfind.nokia.com.

Here we have the Nokia 1661 which is a new entry-level candy bar phone that we believe is now heading for the T-Mobile network in the USA. It’s an entry-level phone and to be honest it’s not much to get excited about but if you’re the type of person that just wants a cell phone to make calls well maybe this is for you.
In terms of specs that comes with1.8-inch 128×160 pixels screen, FM radio, speakerphone, flashlight (not really sure what you would use it for) and is a dual-band GSM radio on board. In terms of battery life on the phone we believe that it will give up to eight hours of talk time and according to reports is going to 624 hours of standby time, which is quite exceptional, but this is probably due to it and not relying on any applications on the phone to drain the battery quickly. In terms of entertainment the phone comes with two games installed Sudoku and Mobile Soccer (I guess it’s called mobile soccer for our American friends).
So far we have no word on pricing for the phone but if you are looking for a cheap cell phone this has got to be up there with the best of them. I’m sure when it comes to getting this on a contract plan that you will not be expected to pay for this and possibly even get this phone free.

I’d like to see new applications being released and now Nokia Labs have released a free application called Nokia Photo Browser. This new software has been designed for Symbian S60 5th edition phone, so at present will work on the 5800 XpressMusic and the N97 when it’s released.
We have a quick review to break that will demonstrate what the application can actually do and in fairness I do particularly like this one. There are two features that are mentioned in the video one is a face detection technology that once you click on somebody’s face you can simply swipe the image and it will automatically show you the next face in the picture – you really have to look at the video to understand what I’m talking about but I can see some really good advantages to this.
The other feature that is mentioned in the video is the magnifier which by simply holding your finger on an image from moment produces a magnifying glass and by moving your finger around you can get a magnified to area displayed on the image. It’s a simple little feature but a nice feature and looks really well.
The software can be downloaded from Nokia website and the address is given out on the video so you’ll have to watch it so if you’re really interested in having a look at this and you are lucky enough to have a Nokia 5800 this is definitely one of those applications that you will possibly find a good use for.

The Nokia 7205 Intrigue has been announced by Verizon wireless and is now available online to buy if you have been waiting on this it’s also available from stores. The phone comes in at $180 plus a two year contract plan.
When I first in this phone a while ago I was thinking that looked a bit strange but on reflection it is quite a nice looking phone and comes with a unique external display which kind of blend is into the black exterior. If you happen to get a phone call or a text message to display will then illuminate.
The sophisticated phone comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera with flash, the ability to upload photos to social network sites, VCAST, a 240 x 320 internal display and a largish 176×32 PMOLED external display.
One of my big gripe is nowadays is the likes of Verizon locking you into any contract for a cell phone for two years but they are not the only network that doing this and maybe it’s time that they start to look at the model that has been used in Ireland by some of the networks in terms of contracts. It would be nice if we got to the stage of getting free phones but I think we’re a long way from there.
Anyway the Nokia 7205 is a nice unique phone that maybe we will see launched in other parts of Europe soon.

Here is an interesting video that I just came across if you own a Nokia N95 and have always wanted to know how to edit movies on the phone this quick video which lasts for about 7 1/2 minutes is a good guide to on how to do this.
I’ve had a Nokia N95 phone for a while now and to be honest I didn’t realize that some of these features are actually available guess it’s just a matter of using it and learning how to do things which might help. I really hope you enjoy the video and hope you learned something from it.

Here’s something a little bit unusual it’s a Nokia N82 and it’s running Windows 95. The video below is a quick demo unfortunately there is no narration so there’s no explanation as to how well this is actually working on the N82. In fairness is a little bit slow to load onto the mobile phone but it’s also a little bit of an achievement to get this working in the first place.

The phone looks to be a fairly stylish device and has some nice features to boost, the moment we will not be seeing this phone in Ireland it is aimed at the CDMA market, which is more likely in the U. In terms of size it measures 101×45.2×15.9 mm and has a weight of 126.3 grams. The Nokia phone is expected to hit the market this quarter so far we are not aware of the price or which networks may be selling it.
