The Nokia X3-02 is now available on the Meteor network for a very reasonable price of €129.99 when you buy online. It’s also referred to as the X3 touch and type, which we will explain about in a moment.

This is a S40 phones with borrowers some of the more advanced features that you normally find on more expensive handsets. For example WiFi and a touch screen and not forgetting 3G which will help keep you connected of course.

The screen is very responsive and is a resistive touchscreen, this works particularly well when navigating through menus. The screen is a 2.4 inch screen with a resolution of 240 x 360 pixels offers an overall good user experience. But, sometimes when looking at this at an angle can be a little bit hard to see but still for what you are paying for this it still offers a very useful user experience.

Keypad

It’s a very streamlined mobile phone with the speaker based down at the bottom of the keypad. The keypad may take a little bit of getting used to when sending predictive text, but you will find this easy once you have used it for a couple of days.

Camera and Photos

On the back of the phone you’ll find a five megapixel camera. The one issue that some people may find is that the camera does not come with a flash. This may not be a problem for many but one positive point is if you are taking photographs outdoors you’ll be guaranteed clear photographs.

There is built-in editing which will let you to make basic tweaks to any of your images that you have saved. The interface for doing this is very quick and simple to use.

Using the Menus

the phone has been optimized for touchscreen input and it is easy to change widgets on the home screen within a matter of seconds to choose which ones you use more often prefer to have there.

If you are familiar with Nokia menu systems you’ll find this very easy to navigate. You’ll find all the familiar applications that are an older Nokia handsets which have now been optimized for screen navigation.

Overall

this is an entry-level phone to a point because it calls with some really cool features to differentiate it from others within the same price bracket. With WiFi and 3G is really useful if you are on the dole for checking e-mail and Web browsing.

The touchscreen really adds to the whole usability of the Nokia X3 Touch and Type.

We’ve featured on the Nokia 2220 before here on the website but I see that Vodafone are still selling this phone so it seems to be still very popular. I guess one of the main reason is price point and it also comes with some nice specifications for the price.

This is a slider phone and called with a VGA camera, FM radio and also has dual band technology (see full specs).

It has a 1.8 inch TFT screen which can handle 65,000 colors and because of the size of the screen makes it easy to navigate around the menu system and is an adequate size for viewing photographs.

The Nokia X2 comes with a QWERTY keyboard and the series 40 6th edition operating system, it also supports quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900. Some of the features include QVGA landscape display, MP3 player, VGA camera and support for up to 8 GB memory card. The video below to do a really good idea of some of the other features on the phone which also includes Flash Lite 3.0, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and MIDP Java 2.1 with additional Java APIs.

Nokia have been busy releasing a number of new phones the e7 Smart phone looks very similar to their new flagship handset the Nokia n8 and comes packed with some impressive features.

It comes with a 4 inch screen which features a AMOLED display it also has GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100, with auto-switching from GSM to WDCMA, 8 megapixel camera with duel LED flash 720p video, face recognition and secondary video camera.

Connectivity wise it also comes with HDMI, Bluetooth 3.0, high speed USB 2.0, FM radio with RDS, 3.5mm AV connector, integrated GPS with A-GPS, WiFi positioning, accelerometer, Nokia Ovi Suite.

Nokia maps also comes installed and can be used in your car or simply as a pedestrian. With 16 GB of internal memory that should give you enough storage space for photographs and video. It unfortunately doesn’t come with microSD expansion which is something I have been wondering why they have left this out.

It now looks like that the Nokia N8 Will be the last Nseries phone that they release running on the Symbian operating system. It’s expected that and the newer smart phones will now run on the MeeGo operating system which is a joint venture between Nokia and Intel.

This will not be the end of the Symbian operating system because they will still use it on their Xseries, Eseries and some Cseries handsets.

The Meego operating system is based on Linux and will hopefully improve their market share in the smartphone area which has a lot of competition from the likes of Apple, Blackberry and Android.

Nokia have announced the release of the Nokia X2 which is set to go on sale in India first this June before it’s rolled out to other markets. It features a 2.2 inch QVGA display, S40, dedicated music keys, dual speakers, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio, Nokia Messaging, Facebook integration and MicroSD card support.

It also comes with a five megapixel camera which will allow you to record video also. It’s speculated that the price will be around €85 and for a phone to these specifications and a five megapixel camera is reasonably cheap.

We have no more information to present as to when this will be rolled out to other markets.

The Nokia N8 has been seeing a number of times over the past few weeks. And the guys over at mobile review somehow manage to get their hands on the handset even though it is not even released yet.

The new handset will run on Nokia’s new Symbian 3 operating system. The reports so far on the new operating system say that it doesn’t come close to what you find on the Android OS and the iPhone OS which is a little bit disappointing but we will remain positive until we see more reviews and maybe get some hands-on time with this ourselves.

We know more details on the phone but it is expected to be announced sometime this month as soon as we have more information on specifications, pricing etc. we will let you know.

Social networking is second nature to the Nokia N8. People can update their status, share location and photos, and view live feeds from Facebook and Twitter in a single app directly on the home screen. Calendar events from social networks can also be transferred to the device calendar.

The Nokia N8 comes with free global Ovi Maps walk and drive navigation, guiding people to places and points of interest in more than 70 countries worldwide.

As you can see from photograph above it looks fairly nice in the new white color. In the box you also get the various accessories also in white headset, Bluetooth headset, sleeve.

The Nokia C6 has been announced and is part of a new portfolio of mobile phones available. The ohone is expected to be available in Q2 and will available in black or white. It features a 3.2 inch display with 360 x 640 pixels, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Ovi Maps with free walk and drive navigation, 3.5mm headset jack, 5MP autofocus camera with flash, and MicroSD card support.

It runs on the Symbian operating system and the 3.2 inch touchscreen offers easy to navigate menus. You can customize the home screen with the various applications that you use most often.

The 5 megapixel camera comes with autofocus and flash and is easy to use to capture those moments of opportunities when they arise. The mobile phone also supports 16 GB of additional storage which should give you plenty of room for storing music, photographs, video exception.

The C6 is Expected to launch in Q2 this year with an estimated price of €220.
