HTC Desire

Posted on April 14, 2010 by ColmNo Comments

The HTC Desire is an impressive Smartphone that comes packed with plenty of innovations. The Android 2.1 smartphone comes with a 1 GHz processor, brilliant 3.7 inch AMOLED display which is ideal for web browsing and access the many applications that are now available for android operating system phone.

It uses the HTC Sense interface to help you navigate around the easy-to-use menu system. All you need to do is tap or swipe to gain easy access to the applications. As it comes with WiFi you can easily access and browse the Internet anywhere close by any wireless network. Because it’s also 3G you are still able to access the Internet when in range of a wi-fi network.

The android operating system uses the Google web browser which easily allows you to access websites and view video because it has Adobe® Flash® support for videos.

It comes with a five megapixel camera which will allow you to take quality photographs and shoot video. You can easily upload videos straight to YouTube using the built-in applications.

Sometimes it can be a little bit frustrating here in Ireland because the network’s providers like Vodafone, O2, Meteor and Three are always a few months behind bringing in new phones compared to the UK. The latest phones always seem to be available there way ahead of availability here  in Ireland and they always seem to have a much better selection of handsets also.

We do ge get to read many reviews before the phone becomes available here from the likes of testfreaks and stuff.tv so does have a little bit of an advantage and also hopefully before the phones hit Ireland they iron out some of the software bugs

Posted on September 22, 2009 by Colm1 Comment

Vodafone look set to launch the HTC Tattoo phone this October. The Android-based device comes with a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen and a 3.2 megapixel camera. Just for good measure you also get a digital compass, FM radio, audio input 3.5 mm and a slot for MicroSD cards to expand storage to 512MB integrated.

Apparently the phone can be customized inside and out it has some social networking applications already built-in so you can twitter and Facebook quite easily. Everything can be customized so you can have your own personal features on the phone. You can do this by simply putting all of your communications with his and applications onto the phone screen. Many of these applications for the phone company downloaded from the android marketplace where you can also download games.

The mobile also comes with a 3.5-mm headset jack for listening to music it also comes with a a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor so it should zip past the menu is quite easy. It also comes with 802.11b/g WiFi which will allow you to access high-speed Internet access or make phone calls using Skype. The digital compass is quite interesting and something that I need to look into see how it works. The accelerometer is expected and it also comes with Bluetooth enabled.

Overall this looks like a really nice mobile phone and is expected to launch in the UK in October exclusively on Vodafone. We also believe that it will be available and black exclusively to Vodafone also. At the moment if you visit the Vodafone website you can register for updates as to when it will be available.

HTC Hero Update Coming Soon

Posted on September 15, 2009 by Colm1 Comment

It seems as if HTC will have a new update of their software in the next few months. It is one thing you have to hand it to HTC is the quality and how nice looking there user interface is albeit a little bit slow which has definitely caused lots of people to complain about speed and performance.

The good news is that HTC have been working on these issues and if you have time to have a look at the preview video below you will see that the update actually fixes a lot of obvious problems. Unfortunately no details of the final release are available but rest assured it will definitely be coming very soon.
