Sometimes it’s great reading the various mobile phone reviews because most of the time we get to see phones that are available in other parts of the world well before they even hit the markets here in Ireland.
Today we have the Philips Xenium X510 Dual SIM phone which is expected to launch very soon. The popularity of Duel SIM phones is going all-time with more manufacturers finally starting to see this as a potential marketplace releasing new models.
This handset comes with a 3.1 inch QVGA touchscreen display, handwriting recognition, Bluetooth, email, built-in games, 2MP camera, MicroSD card support, and dual band GSM connectivity (900/1800 MHz).
So far there is no release date available or whether this will be available in the European market. Dual SIM phones are very popular in the likes of China and Russia but hopefully we will start to see more manufacturers bringing these into the European market as they really think there will be a big demand for them.
No pricing is available either but hopefully over the next few weeks or months we will get more information on this phone and update this post.
Nokia have announced that they will be launching their Nokia E72 in white in the not-too-distant future. Initially, it will be available only in Malaysia and it’s expected that they will launch it there later this month. Once it has been rolled out in Malaysia they are expected to launch it in other markets but so far we have no confirmed dates as to when this will happen.
As you can see from photograph above it looks fairly nice in the new white color. In the box you also get the various accessories also in white headset, Bluetooth headset, sleeve.
Nokia are also running a competition where it like me you do not live in Malaysia so it’s impossible to get your hands on. You can simply go here and try and win you have until April 26, 2010 to enter. Go check out the rules you might be lucky.
We had a chance to test out the new Acer Liquid android smartphone and I must say we are really impressed. First of all it’s powered by a 768MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on the Android 2.1 operating system.
It comes with a massive 3.5 inch WVGA touchscreen that seems to just dominate the front of the phone. The quality of the screen is outstanding and simply watching video on this compared to an iPhone is such a difference. It also comes with a five megapixel camera with autofocus which again offers quality when browsing photographs and taken them.
As you can see from the photograph above the keypad is very easy to use and certainly did not cause any issues when typing, the large display makes it easy to type. The menu system is very easy to navigate and functional. Once you select the menu button you are then presented with many applications for use. On the home screen you can select the applications that you use regularly to allow for easy access.
Changing access to Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS can easily be done and switched on and off as needed. Accessing photos, music, videos and easily be achieved by scrolling with the touch of a finger. You didn’t have easy access to favorites which again allows you to easily switch to scroll true the various photographs you may have.
It comes with 3.5 Inch millimeter headphone jack which is situated at the top of the phone. You sometimes find other manufacturers place the headphone jack in awkward positions on the phone which is not ideal if you have it in your pocket. Beside the headphone jack to your have light indicators which, show you when the battery is low or being charged and also missed call indicator and missed messages indicator.
The phone comes preinstalled with many applications for social networking, messaging, e-mailing etc. and of course many more applications can be downloaded easily from the Android Store. Overall I was quite impressed with this phone the quality of the screen is simply outstanding and really shows up when you were watching video. Many systems are very easy to navigate and access and the simplicity just seems to make this a very easy to use phone that many people would enjoy.

The HTC Desire is an impressive Smartphone that comes packed with plenty of innovations. The Android 2.1 smartphone comes with a 1 GHz processor, brilliant 3.7 inch AMOLED display which is ideal for web browsing and access the many applications that are now available for android operating system phone.

Sometimes it can be a little bit frustrating here in Ireland because the network’s providers like Vodafone, O2, Meteor and Three are always a few months behind bringing in new phones compared to the UK. The latest phones always seem to be available there way ahead of availability here in Ireland and they always seem to have a much better selection of handsets also.
We do ge get to read many reviews before the phone becomes available here from the likes of testfreaks and stuff.tv so does have a little bit of an advantage and also hopefully before the phones hit Ireland they iron out some of the software bugs

The menu system is what you normally expect on a Nokia phone are very easy to navigate. It runs on the Symbian S40 operating system which offers straightforward menu systems on the handset to access to various applications you will need.
With the amount of smart phones hitting the marketplace today not everybody wants a phone that is too complicated to use and the simplicity of the Nokia 7230 offers ease of use.
There’s no question about it that the phone is a basic handset. But, it comes with a good keyboard and has a decent battery life (which is important to many people) if you are looking for a phone which offers simplicity, durability and usability then this may be a good choice.
