Apple have reported record quarterly results by selling 37 million iPhones in the last three months of 2011.

Apple also reported a net profit of $13.06bn, or $13.87 a share.

When you look at these amazing sales everybody else is losing market share. I wonder what the response from other mobile manufactures will be this year.

We’ll start to see this phone launched on the other networks throughout this year but hopefully a debut in Europe towards the end of 2012.

It comes with a 1.4GHz CPU, a 4.3-inch AMOLED display, which is a decent jump up from its little brother – the Lumia 800 comes with a  a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen.

It has two cameras are as we where expecting, with the rear-facing one being the same 8-megapixel shooter that is inside the Lumia 800, and the front-facing part being there mainly for video conferencing duties rather than providing top-notch shots.

With built-in 16GB of storage, and the 512MB of RAM will see Windows Phone 7 remain nice and zippy no matter how many apps you are running on it.

This is what we expect in the specifications of this particular mobile phone to be 3-inch QVGA TFT LCD display along with a 3.2 megapixel camera with video support, EDGE connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, 20MB internal memory, microSD expansion up to 16GB, TouchWiz Lite, and a 1000mAh battery.

Both phones are very similar spec wise the only difference is the Samsung Star 3 Duo, the handset is the same as the Star 3 but features two SIM card slots which I can see many people finding the very useful especially if you have one SIM card for business and one for private.

It is expected that this phone will be launched in some countries within the next couple of weeks and so far we have no idea of pricing.

It’s expected to come with rear and front-facing cameras (8 megapixels and 1.3 megapixels) while storage reportedly comes in at 16GB (supplemented by microSD I guess).

We are happy to say it will also have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich when first launched. Other specs for the LG Android 4.0 handset include 21 Mbps HSPA, with possible bumps to regional LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi.

It’s also possible that well see this appear at Mobile World Congress 2012 in February so hopefully we’ll be able to confirm a few things at that stage.

The Nokia X3-02 is now available on the Meteor network for a very reasonable price of €129.99 when you buy online. It’s also referred to as the X3 touch and type, which we will explain about in a moment.

This is a S40 phones with borrowers some of the more advanced features that you normally find on more expensive handsets. For example WiFi and a touch screen and not forgetting 3G which will help keep you connected of course.

The screen is very responsive and is a resistive touchscreen, this works particularly well when navigating through menus. The screen is a 2.4 inch screen with a resolution of 240 x 360 pixels offers an overall good user experience. But, sometimes when looking at this at an angle can be a little bit hard to see but still for what you are paying for this it still offers a very useful user experience.

Keypad

It’s a very streamlined mobile phone with the speaker based down at the bottom of the keypad. The keypad may take a little bit of getting used to when sending predictive text, but you will find this easy once you have used it for a couple of days.

Camera and Photos

On the back of the phone you’ll find a five megapixel camera. The one issue that some people may find is that the camera does not come with a flash. This may not be a problem for many but one positive point is if you are taking photographs outdoors you’ll be guaranteed clear photographs.

There is built-in editing which will let you to make basic tweaks to any of your images that you have saved. The interface for doing this is very quick and simple to use.

Using the Menus

the phone has been optimized for touchscreen input and it is easy to change widgets on the home screen within a matter of seconds to choose which ones you use more often prefer to have there.

If you are familiar with Nokia menu systems you’ll find this very easy to navigate. You’ll find all the familiar applications that are an older Nokia handsets which have now been optimized for screen navigation.

Overall

this is an entry-level phone to a point because it calls with some really cool features to differentiate it from others within the same price bracket. With WiFi and 3G is really useful if you are on the dole for checking e-mail and Web browsing.

The touchscreen really adds to the whole usability of the Nokia X3 Touch and Type.

The Samsung Cobble is available on Meteor for €19.99 reduced from €39.99. The other good thing I like is if you top up with €20 you get an extra €20 credit, which I think is a really good deal.

On the front of the phone there are three simple controls the android menu button, home button and the back button. It has a 4 inch display which is bigger than the iPhone on most other torchscreen handsets available.

It’s also come with a 3.5mm headphone jack which is great to see that Sony Ericsson are not using any of the proprietary headsets anymore and are starting to standardize across the board.

The reasonably priced phone is aimed at music and social networking. It has applications built-in for easy access to Facebook and twitter and has a nice little feature built into some SMS where all messages are easy to read using conversation bubbles.

This is a Walkman handset sold as you would expect: a nice features like Playnow, TrackID and also has a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can check out full specifications here.

Overall this particular handset is aimed at the budget market and comes in a number of different colors

We’ve featured on the Nokia 2220 before here on the website but I see that Vodafone are still selling this phone so it seems to be still very popular. I guess one of the main reason is price point and it also comes with some nice specifications for the price.

This is a slider phone and called with a VGA camera, FM radio and also has dual band technology (see full specs).

It has a 1.8 inch TFT screen which can handle 65,000 colors and because of the size of the screen makes it easy to navigate around the menu system and is an adequate size for viewing photographs.
