Nokia Launches Apps for Oxegen

Posted on July 6, 2010 by Colm

Oxygen is the must attend festival this summer and, with so much to see and do, make sure you don’t miss out on anything taking place over the weekend by downloading Nokia’s free Apps for Oxegen, a selection of festival related mobile applications available through Ovi.com. An essential part of your festival survival kit, Apps for Oxegen includes three specially created apps, the Nokia Live Link, Nokia Recommends and the Nokia Video Jukebox. Even if you weren’t lucky enough to get your hands on tickets, download these apps from Ovi.com and keep up to date on all the latest Oxegen music and gossip.

Nokia Live Link

The Nokia Live Link app offers up to the minute news, updates and video feeds direct to your Nokia mobile phone. Be the first to know stage times, traffic information, special guests and where the coolest parties are happening on-site. When the festival is over, the fun doesn’t have to stop! With the Nokia Live Link app you can keep up to date on music news, gigs and get your very own VIP invite to all the parties Nokia will host over the coming year. Beat the crowds and stay one step ahead by downloading the Nokia Live Link app from Nokia’s application store, The Ovi Store.

Nokia Recommends

Select an Oxegen act you want to see and, based on your music taste, Nokia Recommends will suggest three more acts you should check out over the festival weekend. The recommendations are made especially for you from top class music gurus and industry heads so you won’t be left disappointed. With the Nokia Recommends app your Oxygen experience will be more personal and unforgettable than ever before.

Nokia Video Jukebox

Have you ever wanted to create your very own personal Oxegen play list? Well now you can, as the Nokia Video Jukebox app puts the power in your hands and lets you become the DJ! Download this app and pop along to the Nokia Live Stage in the blue campsite each night and you can customise the 100 sq m Full HD Screen and control what music video you would like to see played, all from your mobile phone. The Nokia Video Jukebox app also allows you to send personalised messages directly to the big screen!

Nokia Live Stage

A first for an Irish festival, Nokia is proud to bring a full 3D Audio Visual Show to their brand new stage at this year’s Oxegen Festival.  The massive 100 sq m full HD screen, one of the largest mobile screens in the world, will feature DJs, VJs, a festival TV channel and 3D VJ pioneers, NOVAK. From 10pm each night, Nokia presents full visual DJ sets from the likes of MTV’s Eclectic Method, 3D Disco, Arveene and Misk, thesmokeeaters, Dave Davin, Brian Maher, JB the Deejay, Lorcan Mak and Propaganda DJs.

The Nokia Live Stage runs from 12.00pm to 4.00am, Thursday, 8th July to Sunday, 12th July. Check out www.facebook.com/NokiaLiveStage for video footage, line-up and latest news. 3D Glasses are available from the Nokia Pop-up Store, 11 Grafton Street, Dublin 2 (next door to McDonalds), from Tuesday 29th June, with limited numbers available from the Nokia Live Stage on Thursday, 8th July.
