Posted on February 16, 2010 by admin

A couple of weeks ago we brought you the news that the Symbian operating system is going completely open source. With this in mind they have now officially announced Symbian^3.

It’s expected that this new version will be available around the end of March 2010. It’s not however a completely new operating system but is expected to feature a number of new novelties.

For example we believe it will include new 2D and 3D graphics architecture, multi-touch gesture support, new homescreen with “support for multiple pages of widgets”, HDMI support, music store integration, and usability enhancements.
