What’s new in Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5.3
Today seen the announcement from Sony Ericsson all of their new Aspen smartphone which will run on the Microsoft mobile 6.5.3 operating system. As this is a new operating system I was little bit curious as to what extra features this has. Lucky for me I can across a post from Mary-Jo Foley from All About Microsoft simply went and asked Microsoft to send question and has now come back with some of the extra features that the operating system will have.
Ease of Use features
* Capacitive touchscreen support
* Platform to enable multitouch
* Touch controls throughout system (no need for stylus)
* Consistent Navigation
* Horizontal scroll bar replaces tabs (think settings>system>about
screen)
* Magnifier brings touch support to legacy applications
* Simplified out-of-box experience with fewer steps
* Drag and drop icons on Start Screen
IE Browser Performance
* Page load time decreased
* Memory management improved
* Pan & flick gestures smoothed
* Zoom & rotation speed increased
Quality and Customer Satisfaction features
* Updated runtime tools (.NET CF 3.5, SQL CE 3.1)
* Arabic read/write document support
* Watson (error reporting) improvements and bug fixes
One of the interesting features that seems to stick out a little bit here is capacitive touch screen support, which I’m sure many people will be happy about.
