The New Nokia N900
It looks like we might finally see the Nokia N900 phone released soon. If you have a look at the quick video review below you will see the capabilities of this phone. I particularly like the multiple desktop features, which allows you to scroll between various desktops. You can basically have different desktops for different needs so maybe you have shortcuts for applications on one desktop computer desktop you could have access to friends and family photographs and contact details or even shortcuts to different music.
A great feature if you like is that you can keep all your applications open the same time, which will allow for easy access to e-mail, Internet, music and contacts without having to open and close various applications which takes time of course.
Internet access seems to be a big feature of the N900 cell phone the Internet browser is based on Mozilla and from looking at the video seems easy to use and renders webpages quickly. Everything is touch screen so it’s quite easy to use, I particularly like the mouse icon once you click on the screen it will follow you around where he used touchscreen which is obviously nice and easy on the eye in to happen to move your finger away from the screen for a moment. Browsing history makes it easier to navigate all the previous websites you have visited by simply scrolling left to right you can access these quickly.
There are a couple of options for zooming in and out, one is to double-click an area you wish to zoom in on or by simply doing a circular motion which your finger clockwise or anticlockwise will zoom in or out respectively. You can of course keep multiple browsers open and we said already without having to shut them down, which is a nice feature. Looking at the demonstration video doesn’t seem to slow the phone down whatsoever.
Some of the applications built into the camera are quite nice using GPS you can record the exact location you take a photograph in. You can then edit the photograph by simply using the phone to select a particular section of the photograph and then adding text all without the use of a computer just by using the phone itself.
Quality of video replay seems excellent as you would expect from Nokia. The whole idea and message seems to be desktop PC power on the move in your pocket and flexible. It’s a nice looking phone from Nokia, so far no pricing is available or release date.
