118800 Mobile Phone Service Suspended in the UK
It seems as if the new 118800 mobile phone directory in the UK is running into a little bit of difficulty. I remember seeing this a few weeks ago on TV when it was being discussed and they were asking the general public about the service. Most were not surprised that information like this could be available over the Internet or from a directory inquiries service.
I for one will definitely want myself removed from this type of service as quick as possible and that seems to be what’s happening in the UK. Apparently so many people have removed themselves from this particular service because they are concerned about privacy invasion that the site and service have been suspended. Apparently the suspension is due to unforeseen circumstances at launch.
It’s an interesting concept and something that is available in some states in the USA where there is a cost associated with access to this information. I’m sure this is what is the concern of all the people that have requested to be taken off the service in the UK.
