Blackberry and Google onto a Winner
In a report on the Reuters websites they are basically saying that the Apple iTunes applications store is the top dog when it comes to downloading applications for your cell phone from the Internet. We have known this for quite a while of course. But, we now have some new manufacturers starting to gain ground (if only slightly) into this lucrative market. In recent weeks Blackberry and Android have launched their own application stores.
Each of these stores are offering applications like news service, weather reports, keep fit applications. There are also many games available and you will also find demonstration games that have been uploaded by developers to show the game play and usability before you pay for the full version.
At present the Blackberry store has about 1000 applications that can be downloaded and the Google store is roughly around 2300 applications. This is small compared to Apple’s 25,000 and reports that Apple sold about one billion applications in less than a year has really started to push the other mobile phone manufacturers to launch their own stores.
