217,000 SMS sent in one month World Record
Two pals from Pennsylvania in the United States have set the world record is sending 217,000 text messages in one month that works out at 7000 per day, or 583 in an hour all from a phone. The previous record was 182,000 which was set back in 2005.
The two pals Nick Andes, 29, and Doug Klinger, 30 where relying on using and on limited text messaging plan from the T-Mobile network. Unfortunately for some reason there was a mixup and they received a bill for $26,000. Apparently T-Mobile is looking into this and this should be rectified.
The record was set in March 2009. “Most were either short phrases or one word, ‘LOL’ or ‘Hello,’ things like that, with tons and tons of repeats,” said Andes
A spokesman for Guinness World Records didn’t immediately return messages asking whether it would be certified as a record. I’m sure they could just text him on the phone and ask but maybe at this stage their fingers are completely worn out.
