New HTC Snap QWERTY Smartphone Announced
I really like the look of this new HTC phone, it is only being introduced today and as you see it comes with a QWERTY keyboard. The phone as well as looking nice in the picture is also a slim 12MM also comes with a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM 7225 CPU. In terms of other specs it comes with a 2 megapixel camera, 256MB ROM, 192MB RAM, GPS/AGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2.4-inch display screen (320 x 240 pixels).
The Snap comes with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 standard and we believe it is expected to be available sometime in the second quarter of 2009. One of the other features we like is it comes with something called “Inner Circle” which one setup can select e-mails from contacts that you have specified to the top of your inbox this is a great way to make sure that all your friends e-mails go straight to the top of your mailbox while anything to do work is down a little bit further (I’m sure it’s not designed for this but why not take advantage).
I’m not sure if this is something that many people will find a use for but it’s something new on a phone that I haven’t seen before. No price has been yet set for HTC Snap but we expect the cell phone as we said already to be released sometime in the summer Q2. Additionally we now believe an unlocked version that will support HSDPA at 850/1900MHz will be made available for the US market under the name HTC S522 during the summer. So it’s looking good for the cell phone market in the US later in the year.
