O2: iPhone ‘the fastest selling device we have ever seen’

iphone-parallels.jpgAfter the launch of the iPhone in the UK the Time Online have been speaking to Peter Erskine the chief executive of Telefonica’s 02.

“the iPhone has been the fastest-selling device we have ever seen.”

However Erskine declined to reveal how many iPhones it has sold, as the exclusive mobile network for the handset.

“He said early sales had been in line with its original expectations and customers had found the new handsets easy to use,” Thomson Financial reports.

In Germany T-Mobile sold around 10,000 on the first day so my guess it they could have sold around the same number.

Nokia N81 not a good review

Nokia_N81.jpgOm Malik got his hands on a Nokia N81 and here’s what he thinks

“The device behaved like a 3-year-old throwing a tantrum. Unless this is an especially buggy device, N81 has to be one of the worst Nokia phones I have ever used and would be loathe to recommend it to anyone. It is underpowered and the Symbian S60 OS behaves like Windows ME. Remember that piece of junk? Well this is worse. It takes more than 10 seconds to open a text message. Switching between applications is akin to me running - out of breath. One has to constantly reboot the phone to even make phone calls”

I guess we’ll simple have to wait to hear what others say before we pass judgement.
