It’s been reported that Google will announce the mythical GPhone in the next two weeks. When asked about the recent rumours a Google spokesperson said
“We don’t comment on market rumour or speculation. However, Google is committed to providing users with access to the world’s information, and mobile becomes more important to those efforts every day. We’re collaborating with partners worldwide to bring Google search and applications to mobile users everywhere. However, we have nothing to announce at this time.”
Nobody knows anything about this phone…even if it’s real, here are a few possible designs from around the web.

The Nokia 3555 has not been announced by Nokia yet, but as you can see it’s a clamshell aimed at the mid-low end market. The phone will support GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and we hope to have more specs soon.

I’m a little late posting this as they launched yesterday, but I wish somebody would tell them their website still has a holding page.
I don’t normally cover networks on this blog just handsets, but it remains to be seen what handsets they will offer on the 089 network.
All offers to start with will be prepay, all calls will be across the existing O2 network so coverage should be perfect.

The LG Shine Wood (LB2005H) is new from LG with a stainless steel cover that is etched to look like wood. As ever with nice looking phones this is only available in Korea at the moment.
It comes with DMB-TV, a two-mega pixel camera, MP3 player, Bluetooth and an Electronic Dictionary. Don’t think we will see this in Ireland but you can always shop on ebay for one. Really nice looking phone and cost around $500.

AP News

Parents may worry less about losing their child – and the kid’s expensive coat – with a new piece of winter wear that includes a global positioning tracker.
The jackets, released this week by the British clothing company Bladerunner, have a GPS tracking device in the lining. The device can track the jacket anywhere in the world, within 43 square feet.
“The jacket is not something that was released due to people losing their kids,” said Adrian Davis, a partner at Bladerunner. “It was originally made for mountain climbers, skiers and snowboarders.”
Davis said the company decided to make a children’s version of the jacket aimed at parents concerned about their children’s safety.
Using Google Earth maps, users can watch the jacket wearer move. The movements are updated every 10 seconds.

- 2.6 inch 260K colour QVGA screen
- FM radio
- VGA camera
- microSD support
- bluetooth
- measures 97×52x20 mm
