Philips 598 Music Phone
The Philips 598 is a simple music phone with extra simple applications for ladies includes: women’s diary and calendar, buying list, discounts manager, price table, personal card info, body weight index and basal metabolic rate measurement.

LG Prada phone Unboxing Video
Samsung F200 mp3 player music phone
The Samsung F200 music phone is slim and trim mobile, the F200 comes with a 1.46-inch 220 x 128 resolution external display, support for MP3, WMA, OGG, DCF, and SMP file formats, and a paltry 5MB of internal storage.
The phone includes a microSD slot for toting more than a tenth of an album at any given time, and you’ll also find a hold switch and headphone jack to compliment the musical abilities.
Not sure when this is been launched, hopefully some of the networks in Ireland will finally start picking up some of these phones that Samsung are producing (they have so many at the moment).
Rumor: Sony Ericsson Sofia K850i
As ever with the web you can find all kinds of thing, we are not sure if this is true but the Sofia is said to be a cyber shot camera phone. The Sony Ericsson K850i has a 2.2″ 256k colours TFT LCD screen with QVGA resolution, 5 megapixel camera, anti-shake capability and xeon flash module. The phone is a 3G phone, there will be another sub video camera for video call.
We may get more information on this phone later in the week or it may be delayed for a week or two.
Sony Ericsson W660i
Another Walkman phone is set to hit stores when Sony Ericsson releases the W660i.
The phone will be available in either black or red, the W660i comes with a 512MB Memory Stick Micro but if that’s not enough, users can upgrade to a stick with more memory.
It’s a 3G device and comes with a two megapixel camera. Other features include Bluetooth. We expect to see he W660i around Q2 this year

Samsung E570
The Samsung E570 comes with comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and video recorder. It also has an MP3 player, 20MB of memory with room to expand and Bluetooth.
As it’s Pink it’s aimed at the female market so also includes a pedometer and a calorie counter.
If you live in the UK you can get this from T-Mobile and Vodafone and I’m not sure yet if any of the Irish networks will pick this up.
Motorola Z8 launch Pushed Back
If your waiting for the new Motorola Z8 unfortunately you’ll have to now wait until May instead of April.
Due to some late tweaks to the device Motorola have decided to change the release date, the phone first seen at 3GSM a few weeks ago is a Symbian-powered ’slider with a kick’ and is being pitched as a high-end video device.
The handset also features Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology as well as a built-in music player and a 2MP digital camera with dedicated side camera key, while the onboard video and audio system records in mpeg 4 and 3gp (for MMS) completing the handset’s imaging package.

Phones To Watch
The 3Gsm show a few weeks ago gave manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their new handsets for this year. We’ve taken a quick look at what to expect in the next few months.
Nokia
The Nokia 6110 Navigator will be one to watch as Nokia has taken its mapping services to this affordable phone it’s should be available around July-August for around €250.
One of the big stories was the Nokia N95 we expect to see this in Ireland next month (no price yet), the N95 have some really nice features as shown here .
The Eseries (the E stands for Enterprise) also had some nice phones with Nokia showing that it is in a class of its own with business devices, despite struggling to get its head around fashion phones. The E90 Communicator was the star attraction with the same GPS capability as the N95. The E65 slider and BlackBerry-style E61iare expected to make an impact, too.
Sony Ericsson
The Sony Ericsson W880 it aimed at the slim phone market, this is a really classy looking phone but some people might find small buttons and screen as a potential source of frustration.
We expect to see the w880 for sale in the UK in early March with no date yet set for Ireland.
1GB capacity, holds 900 songs and up to 20 hours music playing time
Samsung
We have not seen a lot of phone from Samsung but they are really starting to produce a massive range of phone and I reckon we will see a lot more from them in the next year. They have come from a few silver clamshells to the D500, and the succession of progressively slimmer sliders, came to the latest stage in its evolution: Ultra 2. With operators like Vodafone, O2, 3 and Meteor making tough decisions on filling their ranges, and Samsung’s share of the Irish market under attack from Sony Ericsson and LG, Samsung is going for super-slim.
It wants operators to pick all three - slide, flip and bar - and argues that the handsets in the Ultra 2 category need to be stocked together as it is creating a ’sub-brand’ in ‘Ultra’. Like the first round of Ultra handsets, the U600 slider steals the show, but the U100 bar phone could be the surprise hit. It is ridiculously thin and epitomises Samsung’s current focus on super-slim.
Samsung has started to bombarded markets across the world with a huge number of phones, but it is not clear yet which will see light in the Ireland .
Motorola
Not so many phone announced by Motorola, The Symbian UIQ-powered Z8 RIZR replacement was the only major announcement from Motorola.

Motorola is really pushing the phone’s video capabilities as the star attraction. It shows 30 frames per second with 16 million colours. It is also an HSDPA phone, with Motorola claiming that a full movie can be downloaded in less than five minutes in optimum coverage.
The stylish MOTOKRZR K3 is a clamshell phone with HSDPA connectivity. The SLVR L9 which we expect to see this sometime in Q2 2007.
LG
The LG Shine was on display (which was already on sale in parts of Europe) so far sale of this phone in the UK have been strong and we expect to see this in Ireland next month.
The LG Prada , LG bosses are quick to say its touch-screen device is being copied by Apple, rather than vice versa, given the inevitable comparisons.

LG Prada Launch in the UK
The LG Prada will be launched in the UK on 22 March.
The price is expected to be around £390, the Prada (which is a joint venture handset from LG and Prada) comes with a touch-screen, a 2 megapixel camera and an MP3 player.
So far we have no date set for availability in Ireland.
iPhone ‘hidden’ features
Some of these features weren’t shown by Steve Jobs during his demo of the phone, but video by an eagled-eyed group at Actioncorp has revealed a few possible additional features.
