Since I’m on a roll with iPhone themes I just came across one for the Motorola RAZR, now I’m not a Razr fan but some of you may be interested in this.
You can download the theme here
If your going to play around with skins for your Motorola read this have a quick look at this site
Remember : Installing a custom skin may void Motorola’s warranty.

In Ireland we tend to carry a couple of phones around (Work and Personal) and lugging round two handsets can be a real pain, Chinese company Doubao has announced the ‘728′ a completely unremarkable handset if it wasn’t for the fact that it supports dual sim cards with full functionality.
Consequently a user can receive calls and messages simultaneously from two networks while also juggling usage of their tariffs to get best value. The 728 features a 2.2in touch screen with support for handwriting recognition, a microSD slot, and a VGA camera.
The phone will go on sale immediately in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan for the equivalent of just 100 euro. Unfortunately, the chance of us seeing this in Ireland are slim.

Where sorry to say but we don’t think you’ll see the Sharp Pantone 812SH in Ireland, but it’s worth looking at all the same. The phone has been produced for Japanese operator Softbank and is being launched in twenty different hues simultaneously.
With a 2-megapixel camera, 2.4-inch 260k colour LCD screen and 0.8-inch OLED external screen and a microSD slot. It’s a 3G model and, since we’re talking Japan, also supports the FeliCa wireless payment system with face recognition security.
The phone is expected to be released next month

Motorola’s Ron Garriques, president of mobile devices in a recent presentation to investors gave a sneak peek at the company’s upcoming handsets.
PDF Format – Download here
Most of the new handsets will be 3G and are basically 3G versions of previously announced handsets:
* KRZR K3 – Existing KRZR with 3G and second camera for video calling
* RIZR Z8 – Tweaked design of the RIZR with UMTS or HSDPA (not noted)
* Q EDGE – GSM version of the original Q
* Q2 – Updated Q in both HSDPA and EV-DO versions, expected at 3GSM
Garriques also mentioned the upcoming SCPL (Scalpel) line of handsets. The presentation notes that these devices will be broadband capable. So I guess lots to look forward to over the coming months.

OK this could be a real phone, or it could be a good PhotoShop picture. Nobody really know if Google are releasing a phone but this is possible and this could be it. The result of a collaboration with Samsung give us a button-less touchscreen device (aka iPhone/LG ).
According to the tipster, the device doesn’t have any on-board storage. That’s right, all your applications are served up over the network with new apps “attached” to your account via a web interface.

Good post over the roam4free.ie
Andy has an insightful post up today on how if they feel like it cellphone companies can overnight wipe out the long distance market.
It has already begun in Ireland due to an inept regulator and mobile phone companies riding roughshod over regulations on below cost selling.
Its now cheaper for me to phone China on my mobile phone than it is to call a local number.
Vodafone were first with an amazing array of offers, Meteor were next and O2 have just launched their own call card which is only accessible from an O2 mobile ( completely illegal by the way)
Its 5c to call 6000 miles and 30c to call 200 feet. 10% of customers benefit and 90% are ripped off as usual.

Rumour has it that Nokia are going to launch the E61i, from what we can see it looks similar to the E61 except it is now more metallic feel with new shortcut buttons arrangement. It will support GPRS, EDGE and UTMS network. MicroSD card slot.
It has more shortcut keys in front, and does not use a joystick anymore, but it uses a small directional pad instead. we’ve also been informed that the voice rec button can be programmed manually to launch any app, and it now has a camera.
However it is worth noting that this device has not been officially announced and specifications could be changed.
