Nokia N80 Internet Edition

nokia n80 Internet editionThe Nokia N80 was introduced with the second wave of Nseries handsets in November of 2005, now Nokia have announced the N80 Internet Edition which has wireless LAN (WLAN), a browser, if needed support for internet calls, a 3-megapixel camera and quadband GSM WCDMA coverage along with an easy to use WLAN wizard, and a bucket load of other internet services which where not previously installed together on Nokia devices.

The N80 also comes with Nokia’s new Download! Client, Clicking on the Download! folder allows you to see what new applications are available for your multimedia computer. The fully featured Nokia Web Browser with Mini Map makes browsing the internet easy and you view the web pages just the same way that PC web browsers display web pages.

Nokia says the N80 Internet Edition will be available in two colours—pearl black and patina bronze—by mid-September. No pricing information is available: that’ll all depend on carriers and network operators.

Sony Ericsson K800i

sony ericsson k800iNew to the Irish market is the Sony Ericsson K800i Cyber-Shot, the efforts of phone manufacturers to try and cram more and more pixels into the lenses of the built-in cameras is nothing short of relentless. The image quality from the camera is fantastic, and mp3 playback through the provided headphones is impressive, though bass is a little weak when using the inbuilt speaker.

The K800i is one of the most feature packed phones available today. As well as the 3.2 megapixel camera, the handset includes an FM radio with Radio Data System (displays station name information on the screen of the phone) and SMS, MMS and email messaging. There is also an RSS reader, a hands-free speakerphone, Java games and applications as well as Bluetooth, USB…and more

* A 3.2 megapixel Cyber-shot™ camera with autofocus

* Memory card slot with hot swap functionality
* 3G support with video calls
* Great MP3 player

Overall this is an attractive, well-balanced phone. The screen is very clear with good definition and colours. It’s a little bit chunky, but to be expected considering all the feature packed into it. Sony Ericsson have out done themselves this time
