For about €70 you can get your hands on a Sagem 346i from O2, the SG346i includes Bluetooth connectivity, a VGA camera and excellent handsfree functionality, i-mode for Internet access so you can sell it on e-bay when you realize how bad it is. This is basically a MY400x with I-mode

Sagem My401X
This phone has been around a few months at this stage but if your thinking of buying one from Meteor you should be able to pick one up for under €90 with some call credit. If you want a mobile phone to make calls, send messages and use a Bluetooth headset with, then the my401x could be just perfect. Things to watch out for are the diminutive internal memory, 0.3-megapixel camera and poor-quality screen, which will frustrate you. If you’re looking for an MP3 player or digital camera this may not be the phone for you.

* Built-in digital camera

Nokia 8800 Sirocco announced
Nokia has finally announced the 8800 slider handset called the Sirocco, which sports an improved 2MP camera. So what’s the difference between this and the older model, well first it has a big indent on the front…big difference this will make!! but they have improved the camera which was a woefully inadequate VGA affair on the first model and now upped to a 2MP.
All the other features seem to be the same, with Bluetooth, MP3 ringtones and the rather lovely 262k-colour screen. As for price…I’ve no idea yet…. as for availability in Ireland…not sure yet…was this a useful review…. probably not!!
Motorola L2
The Motorola L2 design is based on the SLVR L7 slim phone, the L2 has a different keypad from Motorola’s L6 - instead of it having the flat keypad used in the RAZR, L6 and SLVR, the L2 has a much easier-to-use keypad with contoured buttons. More aimed at business users as it lacks (camera and music player) but contains Bluetooth functionality as one of its key features.
Features that the L2 keeps include:
* Bluetooth
* Quad-band radio
* Speakerphone
* 128 × 160, 65K Color CSTN display
Available from Vodafone and I guess all Vodafone stockiest like the Carphone Warehouse.

I like the idea of the picture blog you just snap a picture and upload it on the go to your own personal blog page. Picture blogging provides an excellent way to share your experiences with family, friends and colleagues.

Ryder Cup Ban Mobile Phones
Organisers of next months Ryder Cup have decided to ban mobile phones for the six days a spokesman confirmed today, they basically want all matches to be played without the risk of disturbance.
So they reckon about 40,000 people will attend each day, I would personally love to see how they do this..are they going to strip search everybody? Will they have the phone police checking? What happens if you bring your phone do they not let you in? Or take your phone away….as you can guess not much phone new today ![]()
Motorola RAZR with tattoos
Motorola will soon start shipping the RAZR handset with a tattoo (AKA laser-etched), Motorola executives said the tattoo idea came out of brainstorming sessions on how Motorola could extend the success of the ultra-slim RAZR.
As the pink RAZR has outsold all expectations this seems to be the next step in designer phones, Motorola had been using machines to etch people’s names or catchphrases onto the battery doors on the RAZRs at trade shows for the past year. You’ll start to see the tattooed RAZRs next month but will they get the market share they had last Christmas with the pink RAZR.
Nokia 1600 Review
As I seem to be seeing this phone everywhere I decided to have a quick look at the entry-level phone, currently available from both Meteor and Vodafone at €49. This a good first phone, or if you’re just looking for some basics.
The Nokia 1600 keypad is reasonably easy to use, even thought the numbers being split into two sections.
There’s a nice 4-way scroll key and the interface is graphical, easy to use, and makes very good use of the quite small colour display.
The phone has MP3 ringtones 20 in total, but don’t expect too much from these. This phone is great basic phone, has excellent battery life, great price too. As somebody suggested to me this is not for posers but if you want a good reliable phone this could be the one.

Nokia N93 Sim Free
I’ve come across a number of Irish sites selling the N93 sim Free, the problem is you need about €750. So far I’ve no information if this will be available from any of the Networks a quick visit to Nokia’s website found that they added some spec’s and information on the N93 a few days ago, so I think this might happen soon.
Today Nokia announced the N93 has been awarded the European Media Phone of the Year 2006-2007 by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA), Europe’s largest multimedia press organization. So with this type of award it’s seem’s they will introduce it across Europe…only time will tell
